Pre-Press

~ Pre-Press Instructions/Requirements ~

Digital Pre-Press
We are a full service Pre-Press department, specializing in 4-color process with the capacity to produce film and plates in-house. By using state of the art equipment we take your design and get it ready for proof and production quickly and efficiently. We take your vision and make it a label reality.

Our Mac based art department uses an EPS workflow. We use the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Freehand, and Quark that are updated regularly as new versions are made available.

Our raster image processor (RIP) offers full postscript level 3 support. Our RipIt Speedsetter image setter and film processor are regularly calibrated. We also continually monitor our film output for consistency, density, and quality. Our plates are made of the highest quality plate material.

Supplying Artwork
Art files can be emailed to art@vintage99.com or uploaded using our password protected file upload utility. We also accept ZIPs, CDs, and floppy disks. Please be sure to include all placed images and fonts or outline the text. Do not embed graphics in page layout programs, please link them instead. If you want to use a specific typeface be sure that you own the screen and printer fonts and supply them to us. Also provide a composite print from your printer on paper similar to what the label will be printed. Standard 20-pound paper for most and gloss for labels that will be printed with a gloss finish. It is advisable that you keep your color settings set to CMYK with US pre-press defaults (SWOPv2 20%). This ensures the most accurate representation of what your artwork will look like on press.
